People’s organizations in AP have already warned the Center that they are trying to reduce the height of the Polavaram project and that this will not be tolerated. They have called for state-wide protests to protect public interest in the Polavaram project. In this background, the people of the displaced villages of the Godavari river basin are now demanding that the Center should issue a statement to give more clarity on the elevation of Polavaram.
