On this occasion, Minister Harish Rao said… Last year, with the idea of Chief Minister KCR, 8 medical colleges were started simultaneously, and this year medical colleges are being established in Janagam, Vikarabad, Khammam, Kamareddy, Karimnagar, Jayashankar Bhupalapalli, Rajanna Sirisilla, Nirmal, Komuram Bhim Asifabad districts.
He said that the credit of establishing medical colleges in Marumula districts also goes to Chief Minister KCR. It has been revealed that if there were 5 medical colleges in the state before 2014, this year the number will increase to 26. In 2014, MBBS seats were 850 and now there are 2,790. MBBS seats have increased more than three times, he said. He said that if 9 medical colleges come this year, this number will increase significantly. He reminded that Telangana is number one in the country in terms of medical seats. Telangana is number one with 19 MBBS seats and 7 PG seats per lakh population.
He said that if we look at the government and private sectors, the number of MBBS seats in the country has increased by 71 percent since 2014, while in Telangana it has increased by 240 percent. The minister from Nimes conducted a review meeting through zoom on the nine new medical colleges to be established this year and gave directions. He ordered to speed up the construction work of colleges. It is advised to prepare to start the classes by July. He said that the necessary assistant professors and associate professors should complete the recruitment process quickly.
