Telangana/Hyderabad: The National Medical Council (NMC) has granted approval to two more government medical colleges in the state. Kamareddy and Komurambhim Asifabad have given permission to start classes from the academic year 2023-24. 100 MBBS seats will be available in each college. The State Medical and Health Department will establish a total of nine new government medical colleges this year at Nirmal, Asifabad, Bhupalapalli, Janagama, Kamareddy, Karimnagar, Khammam, Sirisilla and Vikarabad.
The Medical Assessment Rating Board (MARB) of the NMC has issued orders allowing the opening of two medical colleges. On this occasion, the state health minister expressed happiness on Twitter. He said that with the new medical colleges, there will be more scope for strengthening the medical services in the villages. He said that this is another step forward in the realization of CM KCR’s ambition to have a medical college in every district. He said that the approval process of seven more medical colleges is in various stages. The Minister tweeted that apart from improving healthcare services, there will be more opportunities for aspiring medical professionals.
