Revanth Reddy, the TPCC president, has taken a swipe at Telangana’s Labour Minister Malla Reddy at the muduchintalapally Deeksha. Malla Reddy is being targeted to bolster the congress party and to corner KCR as well. To do this, he has targeted Malla Reddy, the MLA from Medchal, one of the constituencies that lie under the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency, which is represented by Revanth Reddy.

Malla Reddy has been charged with grabbing public and private land for the establishment of his medical and engineering colleges on multiple occasions. Perhaps Revanth Reddy’s goal in cornering Malla Reddy and accusing KCR of aiding Malla Reddy’s land grabbing is to force Malla Reddy to quit. By-elections in the TPCC chiefs’ constituency will result from the medhcal MLA resignation.

Winning any assembly seat within the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha Constituency is a cakewalk for Revanth Reddy and his team, given the growing anti-incumbency against the incumbent TRS party, largely caused by land grabbing across the city of Hyderabad by its party members. Given that Congress has not won an election since 2014, a victory in a byelection before the 2023 general elections would bolster the party cadre and also attract leaders with a strong public profile into the congress party.

The TPCC chief chose an intelligent strategy in targeting KCR. The whole congress party in the state is calling for the labour minister’s resignation. The party is attempting to corner KCR to force Malla Reddy out of the party in the same way that Etela Rajender and Thatikonda Rajaiah were forced out of the TRS party.

The TPCC president may then assault KCR, accusing him of not expelling Malla Reddy only because he is a member of an upper caste and of dismissing Etela Rajender and Thatikonda Rajaiah solely because they are from Dalit and backward communities. Such accusations would further tarnish KCR and his party’s image among the Dalit community in the current Huzurabad by-elections and dalitha bandu scheme.

The TPCC leader has created an atmosphere in which Chief Minister KCR feels obligated to move against Malla Reddy. Delay in taking action would further tarnish Malla Reddy’s and KCR’s reputations.

Malla Reddy has been accused by Revanth Reddy of being half joker and a half broker. He further stated that he had evidence of Malla Reddy acquiring land in the name of the Malla Reddy trust. It is not just Revanth; numerous allegations and complaints against his land grabbing have been lodged with police stations by ordinary citizens as well.

Malla Reddy’s response to the TPCC chief’s comments during a press conference has landed the minister in further trouble. He has asked Revanth Reddy to quit from his MP and TPCC positions and fight alongside him in the elections, and he has accused the TPCC president of being a blackmailer and broker in an unparliamentary language. His unparliamentary remarks and his behaviour during the press conference has garnered national attention, with many denouncing him for using such language in the dignified position of a minister. KCR has also been under fire on social media for appointing an illiterate to the position of minister.
