Hyderabad: Sadguru Jagjivasudev said that 52% of the agricultural land in the country is shallow. He said that soil degradation has become a serious problem in the country and if we do not protect our soil in this dire situation, there is a risk of agricultural crisis in the country. Sadhguru explained the progress achieved by the ‘Save Soil Moment’ in a letter written to Joginapalli Santoshkumar, the creator of the ‘Green India Challenge’ and member of the Rajya Sabha. He said in the letter that in order to show a solution to this serious problem of shallow soil crisis, Tinu started in Europe and covered 30 thousand kilometers in 100 days in Central Asia, Middle East and India and conveyed the message of ‘Save Soil’ to 3.9 billion people.

In order to save the soil, it is said that it is moving forward with three ambitions: “to make the farmers of the country adopt 3-6% organic methods in agriculture”, to provide “carbon credit incentives” to the farmers, and to “label based on the organic counts of the soil where they are grown, not on the basis of the nutrients of the harvested crop”. Sadhguru said that discussions are being held with various state governments of the country for that. Moreover, he said in the letter that he expects more cooperation from MP Santosh Kumar to take the “Save Soil” movement further. Responding to Sadhguru’s letter, Santosh Kumar said that the “Save Soil” movement is a wonderful program, and that’s why he made Green India Challenge a part of the “Save Soil” program organized by Sadhguru in Hyderabad. On this occasion Santosh Kumar said that planting saplings is the only solution to save the soil.
