Mana Telangana/Hyderabad: The Telangana government has asked the Krishna river management board to stop the construction work of the Aulapalli reservoir in Chittoor district as part of the Galerunagari Su Jala Sramvanti project of the Andhra Pradesh government. She complained that this reservoir is being constructed without any permissions. Telangana Irrigation Department ENC Mu Ralidhar wrote a letter to the board in this regard on Thursday.
In the letter, he said that despite NGT stay and penalty, the work is continuing. He asked to stop the work immediately. He also wrote a letter to the ENC board less than two months ago regarding the water share of the joint reservoirs. AP already uses more than its share of water from these reservoirs and asked them to see that they do not use too much water from now on. The letter said that while AP used 673 tmcs of water till the end of February this year, Telangana has used only 211 tmcs. He said that out of the total 971 TMC, AP has consumed more than its share of water, more than 74 percent.
He said that the AP government has consumed more than its share. He said that Telangana still needs to get 108 TMC. He said that in Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar projects, which are Umma D projects, there are 76 tmc water taps. ENC Muralidhar asked the board to restrict AP as there is a possibility of damage to Telangana if AP uses water in the same way.
