MEDICAL FATERNITY DIVIDED OVER SCHOOLS REOPENING IN TELANGANA
Corona cases are increasing in India, and numerous assessments indicate that the third wave may disproportionately affect children. In such circumstances, parents are unable to determine whether or not to send their children to school. The state government has not provided schools with any SOPs (standard operating procedures). According to a few doctors, the government’s decision to totally shut down online courses during this time period would have disastrous consequences. As the possibility of online classes would help to lower the population in schools, it would help to mitigate the risk of the coronavirus spreading.
While some doctors advised against doing physical lessons without immunization, others stated that sitting at home had resulted in children being addicted to technology, which was cause for alarm. This results in cognitive behavioural problems, with such youngsters expressing impatience, hostility, and feelings of helplessness, all of which are intensified by the ongoing danger of Covid-19.
With many students becoming dissatisfied with online classes and losing interest in their studies, some doctors suggest that a phased reopening of schools would aid in gaining a better understanding of the situation and addressing the challenges associated with students staying at home for a year and a half.
