The variety of poor people throughout the nation has elevated tremendously. The NithiAyog has revealed that the variety of people residing in poverty in India has elevated as a result of corona virus epidemic within the final two years. The Nitish Aayog has launched a state-wise poverty index. Bihar tops the record of states with the best variety of poor. Bihar has 51.91 per cent poor, in response to the Nitish Aayog by the Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI). It is adopted by Uttar Pradesh (37.79 per cent), Madhya Pradesh (36.65 per cent) and Meghalaya (32.67 per cent).

When it involves Telugu states, Telangana is ranked 18th and AP is ranked twentieth within the record of the poor. According to the Nithi Aayog Multi Dimensional Poverty Index, 13.74 per cent of the poor in Telangana are poor and 12.31 per cent are poor in AP. On the opposite hand, Kerala is the state with the bottom variety of poor. According to the Nitish Aayog, solely 0.71 per cent of the inhabitants in Kerala is poor. It is adopted by Goa (3.76 per cent), Sikkim (3.82 per cent), Tamil Nadu (4.89 per cent) and Punjab (5.59 per cent).
