ManaTelangana/Hyderabad: Southwest Monsoon, which is the main lifeblood of the country’s economic development, will enter the state of Kerala on June 4 this year, giving life to the agricultural sector. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced that normal rains will occur across the country this year under the influence of monsoons. Usually on June 1 every year, South West Monsoon hits the state of Kerala. But IMD said that there are chances of some delay in the mantra this year. Monsoon entered Kerala on June 1 in 2020 and on June 3 in 2021 for the last three consecutive years.

Last year, they entered Kerala on May 29, a day earlier than the usual time. This year, the weather department has announced that it will hit Kerala four days later than usual. The Meteorological Department has predicted that normal rainfall is likely to be recorded this year due to the influence of monsoons. El Nino is likely to occur due to conditions in the Indian Ocean Dipole and Northern Hemisphere, it said. It has been revealed that this effect can be seen in the second half of the season. For the past 18 years, the Indian Meteorological Department has been predicting the entry of the Southwest Monsoon.

From 2004 to 2022, the Meteorological Department’s forecasts for the arrival of monsoons have been correct in all the remaining years, except for 2015. The Indian Meteorological Department has developed special models for forecasting monsoons. According to them more accuracy in predicting monsoons has increased. All six methods predict the arrival of menstruation. The rains that fall due to the south-west monsoon are the most important for the country’s agriculture. More than 52 percent of the crop cultivation area in the country is under rainfed cultivation. Food security for the people of the country is achieved by 40 percent of food grains production in Kalpicchant due to rain fed crops.
