Hyderabad: Former Legislative Council chairman MLC Gutta Sukhender Reddy has criticized the state government for not buying the grain harvested by the farmers during the six winters, but the farmers are suffering due to lack of support from the central government agency FCI. He explained that the main reason was that the rice in the FCI warehouses was not being supplied to other states with railway wagons which was not enough for the rice purchased in the state last Rabi. He was speaking at a media conference in Nallagonda on Wednesday. Gutta said farmers were suffering from unseasonal rains due to the accumulation of rice stocks near government warehouses and the lack of space near the millers to store the grain they are currently buying.
