Hyderabad: Owners of some private colleges. Seats are blocked and those seats are sold for Rs. ED officials conducted searches in 12 medical clinics related to this. The ED officials revealed that they will issue notices to the college owners who are facing the latest allegations. The investigation of the ED officials in the PG medical seats scam continues. The ED officials initially found that some medical colleges have made more than 100 crores by selling PG seats.

To this extent, the authorities are engaged in collecting evidence. Last month, ED officials conducted searches in 16 areas related to 12 medical colleges. Key documents were seized during these searches. Cash in Mallareddy Medical College was seized and the money in the bank account was seized. The ED officials concluded that the accused 12 medical colleges blocked the PG medical seats and then collected crores of rupees based on the demand for them. To this extent, when the bank accounts of the respective colleges were examined, cash transactions were revealed. Officials found that the owners of the colleges diverted the money to their own accounts.

It was concluded that PG medical seats were sold against the rules from 2016 to 2022. A case was registered when the registrar of Kaloji University lodged a complaint at the police station last year. Based on that case, ED officials have registered a case under money laundering and are investigating. The ED officials will issue notices to the managements of the accused medical colleges. ED officials will examine the bank accounts of the colleges as well as the personal accounts of the owners. After confirming that money laundering has taken place, the ED officials will take action against the concerned persons accordingly as per law.
