Hyderabad: State Public Health Department doctors DH Srinivasa Rao has said that Omicron could come into India at any moment. During a cabinet sub-committee meeting yesterday, Kovid said the issue of accelerating vaccination and raising public awareness on Omicron was discussed. RTPCR tests were conducted on passengers arriving in Hyderabad yesterday from the UK and Singapore. He said a woman who tested positive for them was being treated at Tims. The DH explained that the victim samples had been sent to the Genov sequence and that it would be known whether it was Omicrana or not when the report was received.

Dr. Srinivasa Rao said that we are trying to make the vaccine mandatory and that only the vaccine can save lives. Omicron has spread to 25 countries. DH Srinivasa Rao said that Omicron could come into India at any moment. He said a proposal to make the vaccine mandatory would be submitted to the government. Kovid suggested that the rules be obeyed by everyone. The CM said KCR was being guided from time to time and that Omicron would spread six times faster than Delta.
