Hyderabad: Singareni Thermal Power Station has been standing at the number one position since the beginning among the thermal power stations run by the state governments across the country. Singareni Thermal Power Station has been ranked number one at the national level with 91.5 PLF from April to this January in the financial year 2022-23. The 1,200 MW Singareni Thermal Power Station built at Jaipur in Manchiryala district as part of its business activities by Singareni Company is showing the talent of Singareni at the national level as it has ranked number one among more than 250 thermal power stations in the country with excellent performance and best CLF.

Although the foundations for the construction of this plant were laid in the year 2010, the construction is progressing slowly, after the emergence of Telangana, on the order of the Chief Minister of the state, K. Chandrasekhara Rao, the company CMND N. Sridhar supervised every step of its construction and visited the plant once every 15 days to speed up the work. As a result, it was launched in the month of September 2016. Until now, about 500 crores of rupees have been collected for Singareni organization every year. The construction of Flue Gas Diesel Pulverization (FGD) plant has been undertaken at a cost of around Rs.696 crores to make the plant a fully eco-friendly plant. This construction will also turn into a full-scale eco-friendly thermal power plant if completed soon.
Preparations for setting up another 800 megawatts thermal power station!
Meanwhile, the Singareni company is making preparations for setting up another super critical thermal power station with a capacity of 800 mega watts. The Singareni thermal power plant is not only working in an excellent manner but it is supplying about 12 percent of the electricity in the state’s electricity needs. Sridhar expedited the work. More importantly, in the recent Board of Directors meeting under the chairmanship of CMD Sridhar, approval was given for setting up another 800 MW super critical thermal power plant in the same premises and the tender process is currently in the final stage. Official sources say that the construction work will start even before this. With this, the thermal power produced by the Singareni company will reach 1,200 to 2,000 MW.
15,250 compassionate jobs
Although Singareni has a history of 134 years, several workers point out that the institution gained good reputation only after the formation of Telangana state. They mention that Singareni is at the top in terms of employment and employment opportunities. So far, Singareni organization has provided jobs to 19,463 unemployed youth. Out of these, 15,250 descendants got jobs recently under Karunya Udyoga recruitment process announced by CM KCR. It is remarkable that 4,207 people got jobs through direct recruitment. Not only in terms of thermal power station.. Singareni company in Telangana has achieved phenomenal growth in coal production, transportation, profits and turnover. Coal production which was 504 lakh tonnes in 2013-14 before the advent of Telangana state has increased by 33 per cent to 671 lakh tonnes in 2022-23.

Also, the company which transported 479 lakh tonnes of coal in 2013-14 before the arrival of Telangana has transported 667 lakh tonnes of coal in 2022–23 with a growth of 39 percent after the arrival of Telangana. The total turnover of Singareni Sangam before the advent of Telangana was 11,928 crores while in the last nine years it has increased by 176 percent to 32,978 crores in the last year. In terms of profits, Singareni, which had a profit of 419 crore rupees in 2014 before the advent of Telangana, had a profit of 2,184 crore rupees last year with a growth of 421 percent. Singareni has opened 14 new mines in the last nine years, growing by 33 per cent in coal production and 39 per cent in coal transportation.

On the order of the Chief Minister, 2,000 spacious double bedroom houses were constructed for the workers at Bhupalappalli, Satthupalli and Kothagudem. Singareni company is paying interest on housing loan of ten lakhs for construction of own house of workers. A retirement age of 61 years is being enforced by the Chief Minister of the state unlike any other coal industry in the country.
