Hyderabad: Stamps, Registration Department and Excise Department offices are facing difficulties due to lack of their own buildings. Most of these offices are in rented buildings and the owners of the buildings are putting pressure on the authorities for the rents. At present these two departments also bring huge revenue to the government. However, due to the delay in the rent payments, the building owners are going to the courts and they are facing difficulties due to this, officials complain. While the income from Stamps and Registration Department is more than Rs.10 thousand every year,

Every year approximately Rs.30 thousand crores of revenue is coming from the Excise Department. At present there are approximately 141 sub-registration buildings across the state, while 40 Excise Superintendent offices and 139 excise police stations across the state are in rented buildings. They have to pay about Rs.10,000 to Rs.30,000 per month. Apart from this, the officials of the respective stations are facing difficulties due to difficulties in payment of net and current bills.
Net, current bill payments
Officials claim that they pay the net and current bills with their own money and see to it that day-to-day work is done. However, in many places, the owners of the buildings approached the court and issued notices as some officials raised their hands saying that they could not pay the rents and other bills. In addition to this, the officials of the Excise Department are complaining that they are facing difficulties in paying the dues of vehicle rent. Officials claim that in these two departments, the rents for the respective buildings are not being paid for one year to two years. At present, in some places, unable to withstand the pressure of the owners, the officials of both the departments are getting some relief from the pressure of the owners by paying some of their own money.
At the rate of Rs. 33 thousand per vehicle.
Apart from this, except for one or two top officials, all the officials of the Excise Department are using rented vehicles. The same is the case with ES offices and excise stations in the state. The monthly rent is fixed at Rs.33 thousand per vehicle. It seems that the rent for many of these vehicles has not been paid for 10 months and the excise officials are complaining that they have to spend their own money on petrol and diesel.
ES offices in Rangareddy shifted to Nampally
Excise department has 2 ES offices in Rangareddy district. Due to heavy rent arrears of these two, they were shifted to the Excise headquarters at Nampally. Golconda Excise Station has been shifted to Excise Academy in Kismatpur. It is learned that the owners of the six excise stations in the joint Nalgonda district have gone to the court for non-payment of rent for two years. Apart from this, rent arrears for the vehicles have accumulated for a year.

While there are 14 stations in the joint Adilabad district, only the Adilabad station has its own buildings along with the ES office. Officials are expressing concern that the remaining 12 buildings are under pressure from the owner as the rent has not been paid for the remaining 12 buildings. It seems that the remaining stations have rent arrears ranging from six months to a year. In many districts, the officials are facing difficulties due to non-payment of rent related to the offices of both the departments.
